Hi! Thank you for taking the opportunity to sort out a problem or issue that you've had trouble figuring out on your own. My name is Dennielle and I will be your therapist if you choose Pediatric and Adolescent Behavioral Counseling. I help children (ages six and up), adolescents, adults, couples and families who are experiencing mental or emotional problems to get their lives back on track. I assess, diagnose and treat individuals struggling with mental health issues, including anger, anxiety, depression, stress, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, low self-esteem or other conditions.
It is possible to create a more meaningful and fulfilling life even if you have found yourself stuck in an unhealthy pattern, have struggled with long-term difficulties, or just cannot figure out what is holding you back. Keeping everything to yourself is unhealthy and could result in a bigger problem both physically and emotionally. I provide therapeutic interventions in a safe and supportive environment. Together we will explore the thoughts, behaviors, and emotions that might be hindering your personal growth and happiness in order to help you develop more effective coping strategies and take control of your emotional well-being.
I graduated from Capella University with a Masters Degree in Human Services, specializing in Mental Health Counseling in 2012.
I volunteered for Macomb County Crisis Center as a trained counselor for two years providing phone support to callers facing any situation. I provided referrals to many community resources, listened to concerns, and helped find solutions for those whom may have been suicidal, homicidal or in crisis.
I completed both clinical internships at New Oakland Family Centers where I worked in the partial hospitalization program called FACE to FACE. The FACE to FACE day program is the core service that separates New Oakland from treatment models used by traditional mental health providers. Like hospital-based treatment, FACE to FACE provides intensive therapy and treatment with medical oversight and supervision. Unlike many hospitals, care takes place in a warmer, more nurturing office-based environment for six hours per day. Children, adolescents and adult patients participate in age specific groups during the day, and depending on the severity of their circumstances, will attend sessions either three or five days a week with an average length of stay of 7-10 days. I utilized a multi-disciplinary approach to assess, intervene and empower both the individual and the family to work towards resolution of the presenting problem.
In 2014, I opened a private practice in Bloomfield Hills, Pediatric and Adolescent Behavioral Counseling, where I currently practice now. My goal is to provide education, inspiration and empowerment for individuals, couples and families to overcome daily thoughts, feelings, and problems. I provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Play Therapy amongst other therapeutic interventions that helps individuals improve overall mental health and relationships. I believe that each individual is unique therefore my counseling technique is based on the personal interests, strengths, assets, needs, and preferences of the individual. I also continue to work contractually at New Oakland Family Center providing outpatient therapy services.
I love my career, helping those who are brave enough to ask for help and watching my clients overcome what they believe is impossible. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at anytime by phone, email, or online. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!
