Jordo Ceresnie

Hello

My name is Jordan, but please call me Jordo. I believe meaningful therapy begins with authentic human connection, curiosity, and the understanding that people are more than their symptoms or struggles. I view clients as inherently whole and aim to create a grounded, compassionate space where all parts of a person’s experience are welcome.

My approach emphasizes present-moment awareness, collaborative self-discovery, and reconnecting with the deeper patterns, emotions, and strengths that shape our lives. I believe healing often begins when we slow down enough to genuinely notice ourselves with honesty, compassion, and curiosity.

Education

I graduated with my master’s degree in Counseling from Naropa University’s mindfulness-based transpersonal counseling program in 2025. I completed my practicum at New Oakland Family Center, where I facilitated group therapy within a partial hospitalization program for children, teens, and adults navigating moderate to severe dual diagnoses. I completed my internship at Pediatric and Adult Behavioral Counseling under the supervision of Dennielle McIver, MS, LPC-S, NCC, CCTP.

I am also a certified meditation and mindfulness teacher, with additional training in psychedelic-assisted and integrated therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

Career

My background as a nursing assistant, executive chef, small business owner, and parent has given me a wide range of life experiences and strengthened my ability to connect with people from many different walks of life.

Before entering the counseling field, I spent over a decade in the culinary industry, eventually becoming an executive chef and small business owner. These experiences helped me develop strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills while teaching me the importance of understanding each person as an individual. Building and leading teams also showed me the value of authentic relationships, collaboration, and creating spaces where others feel supported and able to grow.

Becoming a parent inspired me to pursue a career more deeply aligned with my passion for helping others and serving the community while maintaining a healthier balance between work and family life. My experiences in healthcare further deepened my appreciation for compassionate one-on-one support and holistic care.

Specialization and Approach

I bring a steady, warm, and a genuine authentic human presence to our therapy sessions. My approach is relational, experiential, and mindfulness-based, helping clients deepen awareness of their thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and relational patterns in the present moment. What that means is rather than just analyzing your past or handing you worksheets, we will work together in the present moment to notice how your thoughts, emotions, and physical body all connect.

I draw from humanistic, Gestalt, existential, somatic, and mindfulness-informed approaches to support clients in exploring their inner world with curiosity and self-compassion. My approach is deeply collaborative and focused on the whole person. I will help you explore your inner world including your habits, fears, and relationship patterns with curiosity instead of judgment. Together, we will create a safe space where you can understand yourself more deeply and learn to treat yourself with genuine kindness.

I enjoy working with clients navigating trauma, shame, grief, difficult life experiences, and longstanding emotional patterns. My approach emphasizes safety, pacing, mindfulness, and somatic awareness allowing you to process overwhelming experiences while building greater emotional resilience, self-understanding, and connection to yourself.

As a certified meditation and mindfulness teacher, I often incorporate mindfulness practices such as meditation, breathing exercises, grounding techniques, and body awareness into therapy. These practices can help clients develop greater emotional regulation, reconnect with themselves, and relate to difficult experiences with more clarity, flexibility, and compassion.

I strive to create a supportive and collaborative therapeutic space where clients can safely explore anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, identity, spirituality, and questions of meaning and purpose. I believe growth comes not from becoming someone different, but from developing greater awareness, flexibility, and connection with ourselves.

For You

In today’s fast-paced world, many people struggle to find balance amidst work, relationships, family responsibilities, and personal aspirations. Over time, stress, anxiety, burnout, and disconnection can leave us feeling overwhelmed or out of sync with ourselves.

Therapy offers a space to slow down, reconnect, and explore your experience without judgment. There is no “right” way to show up in therapy; being exactly who you are in this moment is enough. Together, we can explore the patterns, emotions, and experiences shaping your life while working toward greater awareness, healing, and authenticity.

If, for any reason, our therapeutic connection does not feel like the right fit, I value open communication and will gladly help explore alternative options that may better support your needs.
